A Christmas story

star for Christmas poem.jpg

I woke up from a dream.

We walked for miles

To follow a star.

A star of love

A star of hope.

To follow a star

doesn’t have to be a dream.

We may not be the believers

But we can be the star;

If we love our own skin,

The hardest part.

We are not alone at Christmas

If we spread the love hard.

Your story is not you.

You are that Christmas star,

Flying high, flying free.

This poem is about the importance of self-love and spreading love at Christmas. I’m religious, but appreciate that not everyone is a believer. I love the story of Christmas as it teaches us that we should love each other unconditionally; without reservation, completely and forever.
